Tembusu is a new Straits dining house nestled within the lush Ginger Garden at Singapore Botanic Gardens, bringing together the flavours of Malay, Peranakan and Southeast Asian cuisine in a setting surrounded by greenery. The menu gives familiar dishes a contemporary twist, with highlights including Tembusu Nasi Lemak, Squid Ink Claypot Rice with Pacific abalone, Udon Laksa with Andaman sea prawns and homemade kaya toast served with Nanyang kopi.
The interiors lean into a playful take on Straits heritage, combining illustrated ceilings, warm timber, terracotta and cane with a garden-facing conservatory. There is also a dedicated Yānhuo Tang Shui counter serving traditional Chinese dessert soups, adding another layer to the all-day dining experience. The overall setting feels designed for lingering — whether over breakfast, brunch or a leisurely meal surrounded by the gardens.
Adding to its appeal, Tembusu is one of the few restaurants in Singapore where dogs are welcome indoors, with pets able to join their owners in the air-conditioned dining hall. Part of Fleursophy Group, the new dining house offers a relaxed take on Straits flavours, pairing familiar comfort food with a lush garden setting made for slower moments and good company.
