Elijah Pies has opened its third and largest location at 72 Joo Chiat Place, taking over a restored 1930s Peranakan shophouse for its first flagship in the East. The 60-seater cafe features a spacious layout, a light-filled private dining room and a pet-friendly outdoor area, making it suited to families, celebrations and casual neighbourhood visits. Designed with Nice Projects, the space retains the brand’s signature navy facade while incorporating 1,480 hand-cut Italian travertine tiles in a geometric pattern inspired by Joo Chiat’s Peranakan heritage. A large 10-seater table with a Lazy Susan anchors the dining area, while a botanical backdrop by This Humid House adds character to the private room.
The new space also introduces several additions to Elijah Pies’ menu, including the made-to-order Elijah’s Soufflé Pie, featuring warm chocolate gianduja, almond joconde and hazelnut praline, finished with a handmade chocolate flower inspired by Peranakan tilework. The Kaya Toffee Pie combines housemade pandan coconut jam with gula melaka toffee, while a new range of six-inch Pizza Pies takes inspiration from Chicago deep-dish pizza, using a three-day laminated croissant-style crust. Flavours include Garlic Ebi, Truffle Croque, Cheeseburger and Ruffles, with the latter topped with potato gratin, portobello duxelle and espuma piped tableside.
The flagship is also designed with younger diners and four-legged companions in mind, with free babyccinos and housemade cheese crisps for children, as well as a dedicated outdoor pet service corner and free dog cookies. Pet bakery Petissier supplies mini Pup Pies in Wild Berry Lavender and Matchamisu, made with chicken breast, potato, Chinese yam and coconut cream. A new selection of creative mocktails rounds out the dine-in offering, including the Nyonya-inspired 1930, Berry Bubble and mango-based Rolly Lolly. After 12 years of growing from a home-based baking business into a recognisable local brand, the Joo Chiat flagship gives Elijah Pies a larger neighbourhood setting to bring together its signature visual style, playful new creations and shareable dining experience.
