Chilli Padi Tok Panjang has opened at The Rail Mall, bringing the warmth of traditional Peranakan communal dining to a new heritage-inspired space. Created by the team behind Chilli Padi Nonya Restaurant, the new concept draws inspiration from the Peranakan tradition of the tok panjang—a long communal dining table that symbolises togetherness, celebration and shared meals across generations.
The menu showcases more than 40 classic Peranakan recipes prepared with time-honoured techniques and authentic flavours. Signature dishes include the Nonya Pig Stomach Soup ($20), simmered for four hours to develop a light yet peppery broth, alongside beloved staples such as Ayam Buah Keluak, Beef Rendang, Babi Ponteh, Nonya Chap Chye and Kueh Pie Tee. For something more contemporary, diners can also opt for the Claypot Beef Rendang Fried Rice ($18.50) before ending the meal with a refreshing Nonya Chendol ($4) or the café’s rotating Today’s Dessert ($3.50).
Founded in 1997 in Tiong Bahru, Chilli Padi has become one of Singapore’s best-known Peranakan dining brands, serving generations of diners through its restaurants and catering business. With the opening of Chilli Padi Tok Panjang at The Rail Mall, the brand continues to celebrate Singapore’s rich Peranakan culinary heritage in a welcoming setting designed for family gatherings, everyday meals and festive occasions alike.
