Tokyo’s popular bakery-café Rituel has made its international debut with the opening of its first overseas flagship at Takashimaya Shopping Centre on Orchard Road. Inspired by the French Salon de Thé tradition and refined through Japanese craftsmanship, the all-day concept seamlessly blends artisanal baking, elegant dining and warm hospitality, taking guests from breakfast pastries to afternoon tea and dinner under one roof.
Freshly baked viennoiserie takes centre stage, with favourites such as the signature escargot danish, baguettes, pain au chocolat and brioche arriving alongside a Singapore-exclusive 36-layer Signature Croissant. Crafted with premium French butter and flour before undergoing overnight fermentation, the croissant has been specially developed to retain its crisp, flaky texture even in Singapore’s humid climate. Beyond the bakery counter, pastries are also incorporated into savoury creations, including a Japanese egg danish sandwich with truffle mushroom cream, a wagyu roast beef danish sandwich, and comforting pot pie soups sealed beneath golden, buttery pastry.
The menu extends into classic French-inspired mains, desserts and afternoon tea, offering dishes such as duck confit, steak frites, pasta and fricassée alongside towering parfaits, brioche flower doughnuts and seasonal fruit pastries. Tea lovers can also indulge in the Singapore-exclusive Bouquet Afternoon Tea, complemented by curated teas, Valrhona hot chocolate and destination-inspired tea mocktails. To celebrate its opening, Rituel is offering special launch promotions throughout July and August, making this new Orchard Road destination an enticing stop for pastry lovers and café hoppers alike.
