Oaks Coffee Roasters has opened a new café along Bukit Timah Road, taking over the former Flip Coffee Roasters space near Hwa Chong Institution. Founded by 2025 Singapore National Barista Champion Jervis Tan, the brand expands from its original Upper Thomson café with a minimalist coffee destination centred on expertly roasted beans, handcrafted beverages and a relaxed neighbourhood atmosphere. The cosy space features understated interiors, an in-house roasting area, and an inviting setting for both quick coffee stops and leisurely catch-ups.
Coffee remains the main draw, with a concise menu of espresso-based favourites alongside a choice of carefully sourced beans, including Brazil’s Cerrado NY2 with rich chocolate and hazelnut notes, and Kenya’s Gichichi AA, offering brighter berry and green apple flavours. Beyond the classics, the café also showcases more creative signatures such as the Baan, inspired by mango sticky rice with glutinous rice infusion, mango yoghurt and coconut cream, and the clarified Ember, layered with mixed berries and thyme for a refreshing twist on specialty coffee.
To complement the drinks, Oaks Coffee Roasters serves a compact selection of toasties, quiches and freshly baked pastries, making it an easy all-day café destination. Highlights include the Tom Yum Tuna Toastie, Bacon Pesto Meltz, and Triple Mushroom Spinach Pesto Quiche, alongside sweet treats such as Banana Chocolate Cake, Signature Cheesecake, Yaki Purin and buttery croissants. With championship-level coffee, thoughtful food offerings and a welcoming neighbourhood vibe, Oaks Coffee Roasters is a welcome new addition to Bukit Timah’s growing café scene.
