Korean BBQ fans have a new reason to head to the west with the opening of Keum Eun Don at HillV2, marking the brand’s first overseas outpost outside South Korea. The restaurant arrives in the growing Hillview dining enclave, an area that has quietly built a reputation for Korean eateries, making it a fitting location for the well-known Seoul-born concept to land in Singapore.
Originally launched in Yongsan, Seoul, the brand gained popularity for its premium cuts and celebrity sightings, thanks to its proximity to the headquarters of HYBE, the entertainment company behind major K-pop acts. The Singapore outlet carries the same focus on quality meats and generous sets, with highlights including prime beef short rib, pork belly, pork collar and pork jowl, alongside classic sides such as kimchi fried rice and spicy cold noodles. The menu blends familiar Korean BBQ staples with a few less common dishes, giving regular K-BBQ diners something new to try.
The space itself is noticeably more polished than the typical grill spot, with a spacious layout, warm wood finishes and traditional Korean fabric lamps adding character to the room. Combined with its slightly off-the-beaten-path location, the new opening feels like a destination restaurant — the kind of place worth travelling for when the craving for proper Korean barbecue hits.
