Big Short Coffee has opened its second outlet at Beach Road, bringing its inventive, cocktail-inspired coffee creations to a new home near Golden Mile and Kampong Glam. Following the success of its Joo Chiat café, the new space embraces a brighter, more spacious design, featuring warm terracotta tones, rounded arches, terrazzo-inspired counters and the brand’s signature sleepy dog mascot for a welcoming, contemporary atmosphere.
Known for pushing the boundaries of specialty coffee, Big Short Coffee continues to experiment with flavours and techniques borrowed from cocktail bars, molecular gastronomy and fermentation. Its seasonal menu evolves throughout the year, with the current Summer collection showcasing imaginative creations such as Mole Dragon, Lily Pad, King of Chendol, Blueberry “Umeshu”, Mont Blanc and the standout Pulut Hitam Amazake. The latter combines espresso with black sticky rice amazake, Japanese koji fermentation, fresh milk and gula melaka for a rich, dessert-like cup unlike a conventional latte.
More than just a café, Big Short Coffee positions itself as a creative space where experimentation, hospitality and craftsmanship come together. The new Beach Road outlet offers coffee lovers another destination to discover its ever-changing seasonal menu and unconventional brews, continuing the brand’s mission to redefine what a cup of coffee can be.
