Singapore Airlines Launches $45 Million Overhaul of Changi Terminal 2 Lounges
Singapore Airlines (SIA) has announced a comprehensive S$45 million renovation of its SilverKris and KrisFlyer Gold Lounges at Changi Airport’s Terminal 2. The extensive two-year upgrade will see a 50% increase in space and seating capacity, along with a host of new amenities aimed at enhancing the customer experience. Scheduled to begin on 15 April 2025 and complete by mid-2027, the overhaul will introduce productivity pods, rest areas, and—long overdue—restrooms and shower suites inside the KrisFlyer Gold Lounge.
The SilverKris First Class Lounge will relocate to a newly designed space featuring higher ceilings, floor-to-ceiling windows, and a premium bar area. Morning barista service will remain, while the dining experience will be elevated through expanded live cooking stations and self-service buffets. Meanwhile, the SilverKris Business Class Lounge will grow its footprint by 30%, incorporating rest zones with recliners, varied seating options including wingback chairs, and productivity pods. The lounge will also debut a new full-service bar and an upgraded buffet to better serve premium travelers.
Of particular note is the complete transformation of the KrisFlyer Gold Lounge, which will double in size and finally include private restrooms and shower facilities—a major improvement over its current configuration. The updated space will also feature expanded seating arrangements for lounging, working, and dining. These long-anticipated changes bring the Terminal 2 lounges closer in standard to their Terminal 3 counterparts, allowing SIA to better meet passenger demand while it prepares for the future opening of Terminal 5.
