Set within The Arts House, Jeju Haenyeo redefines the idea of dining with an immersive, performance-led format. The experience unfolds as a two-hour omakase-style journey through Jeju’s coastal cuisine, where each course is paired with live performance and visual storytelling. Inspired by Korea’s traditional female divers, the haenyeo, the narrative moves with the rhythms of nature and seasonality, creating a multi-sensory experience that feels as much like theatre as it does a meal.
Originally conceived in Jeju Island, the concept is rooted in authenticity and artistic expression. Created by an artist born into a haenyeo family, the brand has built a strong following through its performance-driven dining in Korea, collaborating closely with local farmers, fishers, artisans, and the haenyeo themselves. Every ingredient and detail is thoughtfully sourced to reflect the island’s land, sea, and cultural heritage, resulting in an experience that feels deeply connected to its origins.
At its core, Jeju Haenyeo blends heritage with contemporary storytelling. Traditional recipes are reinterpreted through a modern lens, while elements like sound, light, and movement elevate each course into a carefully choreographed moment. Beyond the food, the experience emphasises community and cultural continuity, offering a space where guests can engage with Jeju’s traditions in a way that is both intimate and deeply evocative.
