Open Secret has quietly opened along Arab Street, bringing together the talents of two familiar names in the local café scene. The concept is a collaboration between State of Affairs, known for its inventive beverages like Cloud Matcha and Teh Slush, and Grilla Gang, a toastie specialist descended from the now-defunct Missus at Hamilton Road.
The space itself is intentionally understated, accessible only through a back alley near Sultan Mosque. Seating is minimal and casual, with camping chairs and benches spilling onto the alley, creating a laid-back, street-side vibe. Guests can also perch at a high table for a quick bite, making the experience feel more pop-up than traditional café.
Grilla Gang anchors the food menu with indulgent cheese toasties, including playful twists like Kaya Toast and the signature GG Toastie layered with cheese and truffle paste. Drinks come courtesy of State of Affairs, offering the same crowd favourites from their Upper Thomson flagship. Together, they make Open Secret a curious new addition to the Kampong Glam neighbourhood — equal parts hidden hangout and casual gourmet stop.
