While matcha drinks continue to dominate the spotlight, another beverage trend is quietly brewing in Singapore: traditional Chinese teahouses. One such hidden gem is Ling Ling Cha (零零茶), a Taiwanese tea café tucked away in the basement of Marina One. Unlike other popular spots—Incloud with its Instagram-worthy ‘floating stream’ table or the premium-focused Golden Seed—Ling Ling Cha keeps things simple. Its minimalist interior features plain wooden fittings and a handful of ornamental plants, allowing the tea itself to take center stage.
The café offers a range of high-quality teas at surprisingly affordable prices. A cup of Ying Xiang Oolong or Oolong King starts from just $4.30, while Long Jing and Bi Luo Chun green teas are priced at $5.30 per cup. The Muscat Black Tea, at $6.80, stands out for its natural honeyed flavor and is highly recommended. A full pot costs only $1.50 more than a single cup, making it the better value choice. Iced and cold-brewed versions are also available, and despite the wallet-friendly prices, each cup is carefully brewed to perfection, ensuring a taste reminiscent of Taiwan’s chilly tea mountains.
Attention to detail extends to the café’s service: the owners are meticulous about steeping times to extract the optimum flavor and fragrance. Guests can enjoy the process up close at the long bar counter or opt for a quieter experience at one of the regular tables. Ling Ling Cha is located at Marina One, conveniently situated between Marina Bay and Shenton Way MRT stations. Opening hours are 9.30am to 6pm on weekdays and 12pm to 5pm on Saturdays, with closures on Sundays and public holidays.
