Dearborn, renowned for its delicious breakfast offerings, has opened a new location in New Bahru. Founded by Chef Christopher Kong, Dearborn started as a private supper club in 2018 before evolving into a small-batch granola bakery in 2020. With Chef Kong’s impressive background at Michelin-starred restaurants Waku Ghin (2 Michelin Stars, Singapore) and The Nomad (1 Michelin Star, NYC), he decided to focus on his granola business, opening the first specialty store in Everton Park.
New Bahru, the latest hot spot for dining and lifestyle in Singapore, now boasts Dearborn as one of its most popular destinations. Located on level 3 of a former primary school, Dearborn is already familiar to fans who followed Chef Kong’s granolas from Everton Park. The brand has grown significantly since its early days, moving from a supper club concept to a well-known granola bakery.
The space at Dearborn @ New Bahru is cozy, with limited outdoor seating where guests can enjoy the morning sun. When I arrived at 9:10 am, the bakery cafe was bustling, with a long communal table in the center and a few cozier tables on the sides. The brunch menu, though not extensive, features a variety of bread-related items, reflecting the bakery’s focus on high-quality, small-batch production.
