Korean bookstore Bommoi has reopened at Neil Road, bringing its thoughtfully curated collection of books and a cosy all-day reading space to a larger new home. Relocating from Armenian Street, the independent bookstore offers a peaceful retreat from the city’s bustle, complete with resident cat Sara, carefully selected titles and a welcoming atmosphere that invites visitors to linger.
Inside, the shelves are filled with handpicked Korean literature, art books, poetry collections and language textbooks, alongside English translations and picture books by South Korean authors and illustrators. Many of the titles come from independent publishers and writers that are rarely found elsewhere in Singapore, making Bommoi a rewarding destination for readers looking to discover something beyond the mainstream. The space also showcases locally made zines, South Korean ceramics and rentable display lockers where artists and makers can present their creations.
Upstairs, Bommoi offers a quiet reading and co-working space that can be enjoyed for just $4 with no time limit, or complimentary with a minimum spend of $20 in-store. Complete with free-flow tea, Milo and water, the relaxed second-floor lounge encourages visitors to settle in with a good book, study, work or simply enjoy a slower pace, making Bommoi more than just a bookstore—it’s a welcoming community space for book lovers and creatives alike.
