The new Kallang Tennis Hub will be opened in phases starting from 15 April, and the public can begin booking its courts from 8 April.
Announced in 2021 during the Singapore Tennis Open, the hub is located next to the Leisure Park Kallang shopping mall, and houses seven indoor courts and 12 outdoor courts. Three of the indoor courts are show courts with spectator stands, and two of them can be configured to host tennis tournaments with Hawk-Eye technology installed for line calls.
Edwin Tong, Minister for Culture, Community and Youth, announced the start of the court bookings at the Kallang Tennis Hub in his social media. He added in his posts, “This will be the home of tennis, and serve as TeamSG’s national training centre for our national athletes. These facilities can now be used in conjunction with the rest of Sports Hub. We can look at hosting major tennis tournaments alongside larger scale community activations, to include our own athletes and junior players, all in the same precinct”.
