Plaza Singapura is set for a major $160 million transformation, with a refreshed vision that brings the outdoors in. Slated to run from the third quarter of 2026 through to the end of 2028, the revamp will be carried out in phases while the mall remains open, reimagining both Plaza Singapura and The Atrium@Orchard with new retail, dining, and experiential spaces.
Anchored in Urban Redevelopment Authority’s broader plans to pedestrianise parts of Orchard Road and expand Istana Park, the redesign aims to “extend the park experience indoors.” Expect lush greenery woven into the mall’s entrance, with all-day dining cafés set in a more open, nature-led environment. The Handy Road drop-off will also receive a contemporary facelift.
Inside, existing sky bridges will be transformed into floating garden spaces, housing new dining concepts and creating a more immersive, multi-sensory experience. Layouts across the mall will be reworked to improve flow, while retail offerings are expected to shift toward more experience-driven concepts that appeal to both locals and tourists.
The upgrade is part of a wider strategy by CapitaLand Integrated Commercial Trust to reposition its assets and strengthen its retail portfolio. Alongside Plaza Singapura, the enhancement will extend to The Atrium@Orchard, reinforcing the precinct as a key lifestyle destination in the heart of Orchard Road.
