Yang’s Dumplings is set to make its highly anticipated Singapore debut at Bugis Junction, bringing its famed Shanghainese pan-fried buns to the local dining scene. Founded in 1994 by Yang Lipeng, the brand began as a humble street-side stall along Wujiang Road in Shanghai before expanding into a well-known chain with hundreds of outlets across China.
Best known for its signature sheng jian bao, Yang’s Dumplings has built a loyal following for its perfectly executed buns — crisp and golden at the base, soft and fluffy on top, and filled with juicy meat and hot broth within. Distinct from xiao long bao, these pan-fried buns are cooked in large flat pans, achieving a satisfying contrast of textures that has become synonymous with the brand’s identity.
The Singapore outlet is expected to feature its classic pork dumplings alongside a broader menu of Shanghainese comfort dishes, including wontons, noodles, and soups. With its longstanding heritage and reputation for affordable, flavourful fare, Yang’s Dumplings offers a taste of Shanghai’s street food culture — now made accessible without the need to travel.
