Tavola Aperta has opened at Plaza Singapura, bringing affordable handmade Italian fare to the heart of Orchard Road with a menu where every fresh pasta is priced under $20. From the team behind Salt & Soul, the new 90-seater restaurant offers a relaxed, modern take on Italian dining, pairing handcrafted pastas, sourdough pizzas and cocktails in a casual, all-day setting just steps from Dhoby Ghaut MRT.
Helming the kitchen is Chef Mark Tan, who previously trained at Los Angeles’ acclaimed Felix Trattoria under James Beard Award-nominated chef Evan Funke. Fresh pasta is made in-house daily, with highlights including the bright and buttery Linguine Al Limone, finished with lemon, cheese, butter and fragrant tarragon, alongside the White Ragu Bolognese, a rich tribute to Felix Trattoria’s renowned “Vecchia Scuola” sauce served over pappardelle. To start, diners can opt for the Burrata with Roasted Grapes or Beef Ragu Arancini before moving on to pizzas made with dough that’s cold-fermented for up to 72 hours, including the Mortadella e Pistacchio and Gorgonzola Blue Cheese & Pork Sausage.
Beyond the food, Tavola Aperta aims to be an approachable neighbourhood Italian restaurant where quality doesn’t come with a hefty price tag. The drinks menu features weekday happy hour specials from 4pm to 7pm, with cocktails from $9.90 and house wines from $11.90, making the new Plaza Singapura opening an easy choice for everything from casual lunches to after-work gatherings.
