Affordable pasta gets a playful new address in Chinatown with the arrival of FreakyNoods, the latest concept by the team behind popular ice cream café FreakyCones. Soft-launched on 1 July 2026, the new daytime concept brings together Japanese-inspired pasta dishes with bold flavours and cheeky names, offering a casual spot for hearty comfort food without the premium price tag.
The opening menu features four signature pastas: Duck Buddy ($16.90+), Prawn Hub ($16.90+), White Chicks ($15.90+), and Beef Daddy ($15.90+), available daily from 12pm to 6pm. Highlights include the Duck Buddy, where al dente linguine is coated in a creamy gochujang rose sauce before being topped with tender slices of roast duck, roasted sesame seeds, and crushed seaweed for added aroma and texture. The Beef Daddy is equally satisfying, pairing linguine with a rich, garlic confit butter-infused beef ragù, while seafood and creamy chicken lovers can opt for the prawn aglio olio or chicken alfredo variations.
With its approachable pricing, playful branding and Japanese-inspired twist on familiar pasta favourites, FreakyNoods offers a fresh addition to Chinatown’s growing dining scene. Whether stopping by for a casual weekday lunch or an easy afternoon meal, the new concept delivers comforting bowls of pasta with plenty of personality.
