Singapore’s record shop scene gets a new addition with Lifted Trax, a fresh crate-digging destination for house heads, techno fiends, jazz obsessives and vinyl lovers. The new space comes from Singapore selector, producer and label head Dexter Colt, with a carefully curated selection spanning dance and electronic music, soul, disco, ambient, broken beat and other wonderfully niche corners of the music world.
With more than a decade behind the decks, Colt brings a distinctly personal perspective to the shop, shaped by deep and leftfield house, trippy techno, dub-heavy sounds, pirate radio and New York club culture. A member of Darker Than Wax and Super Enjoy, as well as a monthly selector on Bristol-based Noods Radio, his musical background gives Lifted Trax the feel of a space built for proper digging rather than casual browsing.
Alongside the physical shop, Lifted Trax also offers an online catalogue for vinyl hunters who prefer to browse from home. With its focus on harder-to-find sounds and a constantly evolving selection, the new store adds another destination for Singapore’s growing community of music lovers — and could be just the place to uncover your next unexpected favourite.
