The viral Peranakan food brand Nya Nya Nonya Laksa is opening a new outlet at Mandai Wildlife Reserve, bringing its popular laksa to visitors exploring the wildlife precinct. The stall will be part of the upcoming Food Republic Mandai, a new dining enclave set to open on 20 March within the nature park that is also home to attractions such as Singapore Zoo, Night Safari, and Bird Paradise.
The Mandai stall is a smaller spin-off of the well-known Nya Nya outlet at Wisma Atria, which often sees long queues for its Peranakan comfort dishes. Both concepts are modern offshoots of the family’s original brand Nonya Delicatessen, known for serving traditional Peranakan fare. The Mandai outlet will be run primarily by Damian Lim, one of the brothers behind the brand who recently gained attention online, giving the new stall a youthful, next-generation energy.
Due to the compact space, the Mandai menu will be streamlined. Diners can expect a focused offering centred around the signature Nonya Laksa, alongside a few classic desserts such as sago gula melaka, mango sago, and assorted kueh. While prices are slightly higher due to its location within a tourist attraction, the new outlet offers a convenient alternative for fans hoping to enjoy Nya Nya’s laksa without the famously long queues at its Orchard Road branch.
