A new dining destination has arrived in Chip Bee Gardens with the opening of MyX, a Latin American–inspired restaurant that blends warm hospitality with a touch of American soul. The creators behind Siri House, Moxie and Cudo bring this new concept to the leafy Holland Village enclave, offering a stylish yet inviting space anchored by a textured terracotta palette, a pebble-stone bar counter and warm wood accents. Tucked just off the main buzz of Holland Village, MyX welcomes diners into a cosy 70-seater that feels both contemporary and lived-in.
Behind the main dining room is The Cabin, a 32-seat enclave designed for intimate gatherings, complete with a 10-seater booth. It’s also home to two standout features: MyX’s Lending Library and Vinyl Listening Lounge. Guests are encouraged to browse, borrow or even contribute books and records, adding a charming, community-centred touch that elevates the dining experience into something more personal and interactive.
The menu draws from Chef Steven Chou’s memories of New York’s Latin American neighbourhoods and the Southern flavours he encountered in Houston. Expect comforting plates ranging from salmon tiradito and beef tartare with ancho chilli to uni cavatelli, crab gratin and roasted seabass. Heartier signatures include the Dirrrty Chicken Rice, marinated in black pepper, cumin and citrus, and finished with a side of Southern-style ‘dirty rice’. Desserts reflect the same spirit, with playful takes like Yuanyang tres leches and kaffir lime pannacotta, while lunch sets, brunch specials and an easygoing happy hour round out the welcoming, neighbourhood feel MyX aims to cultivate.
