Rempapa by Damian D’Silva: A Fresh Chapter Begins at National Gallery Singapore
Rempapa, the Michelin Guide restaurant by Chef Damian D’Silva, begins a new chapter at National Gallery Singapore, bringing heritage flavours to an iconic cultural landmark.

Rempapa, Damian D’Silva’s personal contribution to the ongoing story of cuisine in Singapore
Chef Damian D’Silva’s beloved Michelin Guide restaurant, Rempapa, is moving to the National Gallery Singapore, marking a significant new chapter in its journey. This relocation coincides with the highly anticipated opening of its second concept – Gilmore & Damian D’Silva, Chef Damian’s tribute restaurant to Pop, his grandfather, that is dedicated to preserving and rediscovering forgotten Eurasian and Singaporean heritage cuisine.
This move to the National Gallery is deeply personal for Chef Damian. Having lived in the caretaker quarters of the former Supreme Court – now the National Gallery Singapore – where he spent his formative years in its halls. Thus, this is a natural coming home for Chef Damian.
The National Gallery stands at the heart of Singapore’s story, and Rempapa is bringing its comforting, multi-ethnic heritage flavours to this cultural landmark — reimagined for today yet rooted in the rich traditions they celebrate.
What’s New at Rempapa NGS
While Rempapa’s focus on multi-ethnic cuisine remains, the new outlet will focus on rice-based dishes and local favourites, including Signature Nasi Lemak sets with side options like; Ayam Berempah, Sambal Sotong, and Lamb Shank Rendang – offering comfort food that resonates with both tradition and today’s palate. In addition, the menu will feature a homemade Kaya Toast on thick Shokupan bread, a refined take on a local classic that bridges nostalgia with contemporary craftsmanship.
The outlet will operate as a fully self-service concept, designed for quick, casual dining while maintaining the quality and heart of Chef Damian’s recipes. Adding on, its environment has been carefully designed to be inviting and accessible, reflecting Rempapa’s homely approach to dining. The inclusion of natural light, warm tones, and simple yet thoughtful décor create a space where diners can enjoy heritage dishes in a relaxed, vibrant atmosphere.
Looking Ahead
Chef Damian continues to champion Singapore’s food heritage across both concepts. At Rempapa, diners can enjoy the flavours of home and discover new renditions of familiar classics, while Gilmore & Damian D’Silva invites guests to explore deeper, curated narratives of Eurasian cuisine. Together, the two restaurants reflect Chef Damian’s lifelong mission: to preserve, safeguard, and share Singapore’s culinary legacy with both the young and the young at heart.
Chef Damian continues his mission to preserve and pass on the flavours of Singapore’s past through Rempapa. The restaurant remains a testament to his belief that local cuisine should be embraced, accessible, and relevant for the next generation.
