Tanglin Trust School has marked the start of the academic year with the official opening of its brand-new Junior Arts Centre, coinciding with the school’s Centenary celebrations in 2025. The five-storey redevelopment of the former Junior School Tower Block has been transformed into a vibrant hub for artistic exploration and creative learning, bringing together state-of-the-art facilities for music, drama, art, design, dance, and reading.
The centre introduces inspiring new spaces including specialist art and design studios filled with natural light and integrated technology, a dynamic Junior Music Department with flexible rehearsal rooms, and a purpose-built Black Box Theatre for drama productions. Dance studios and the central J:Hub forum further elevate opportunities for creativity, collaboration, and performance. Each facility has been designed to nurture students’ imagination and confidence while encouraging exploration across different art forms.
Spanning the top two floors, the redesigned Junior Library offers an expanded, light-filled environment shaped by student input. With cosy reading nooks, a treehouse, a Story House for read-alouds, and a future-focused Reading Gallery, the space fosters a lifelong love for reading and discovery—enhanced by the addition of 10,000 new books. Complementing the creative facilities, the Junior Hub now includes a state-of-the-art Athletic Development suite, underscoring Tanglin’s commitment to building physical literacy alongside creativity and innovation.
