Gokoku Japanese Bakery has recently opened at CapitaSpring, bringing an authentic slice of Kobe, Japan, to Singapore. With over 60 years of bread-making expertise, the bakery is dedicated to crafting wholesome buns using traditional Japanese techniques and high-quality ingredients sourced from Japan. Central to its philosophy is Gokoku Shichifuku, meaning “5 grains, 7 fortunes,” which reflects the bakery’s belief in promoting health, happiness, and good fortune through nourishing, carefully selected ingredients.
The bakery’s signature Gokoku Shichifuku Pan is rich in minerals and fibre, made with brown rice flour, sunflower seeds, malt, oatmeal, linseed, and soybeans. Other highlights include Meiho Toast, a naturally sweet, chewy bread made with overnight-aged dough, and Malt Kurumi, a clover-shaped soft bun packed with high-fibre ingredients and a perennial favourite in Japan with over 40,000 pieces sold monthly.
For those craving a balance of texture and flavour, Gokoku offers Mochi Mochi Cheese, combining a chewy bun with savory diced cheese, and Jumbo Coronet, a crispy, creamy treat available in Creamy Custard and Chocolate. Each item reflects Gokoku’s commitment to wholesome, flavourful baking that delights and nourishes, staying true to its Japanese heritage while offering something special for Singaporean palates.
