FairPrice Group (FPG) marked the official opening of FairPrice Finest Clarke Quay, the 40th addition to its line of Finest outlets across the island. Blending the precinct’s maritime history with innovative design and experiences, the new outlet provides all in Singapore with a shopping experience that mirrors Clarke Quay’s journey from a bustling commercial and trading hub, to the lifestyle destination that it is today.
Situated within CQ @ Clarke Quay1, the 14,000 square foot space – approximately the size of 14 four-room HDB flats – showcases exclusive food experiences that celebrate local produce and culture, highlighting FPG’s commitment to food resilience.
As part of FPG’s ongoing commitment to supporting local suppliers, FairPrice Finest Clarke Quay features an extensive assortment of products offered in collaboration with Singapore-based partners, curated specifically for residents in the area. These include a wide range of fresh produce from local farmers, and a ‘Pick Your Own’ kacang puteh kiosk experience organised with home-grown nuts brand Tong Garden.
This array of offerings comes as part of FPG’s dedication to meet the diverse needs and preferences of all of its customers, while providing a platform for local businesses to showcase their offerings. On top of these products, FairPrice Finest Clarke Quay will retail the same range of daily essentials sold across all FairPrice stores at the same price point.
FairPrice Finest Clarke Quay also introduces The Grocer Food Hall to shoppers, a designated food experience zone where customers can indulge in a variety of culinary options from six food kiosks. These kiosks feature value meal options priced competitively compared to food and beverage establishments in the vicinity. Customers can also experience FairPrice Finest’s signature ‘You Pick, We Cook’ service, giving them the option to choose from select cuts of beef from the store’s Delicato beef counter or fresh seafood off the shelf, to be prepared and enjoyed on the spot.
Designed to preserve the precinct’s rich heritage as one of Singapore’s maritime hubs, FairPrice Finest Clarke Quay features nautical-themed design elements that highlight FPG’s milestones against the picturesque Clarke Quay backdrop. These include a warehouse-inspired store layout that highlights the area’s storied history, and a wall mural depicting the Singapore River’s significance as a trading port for essentials coming into Singapore, mirroring FPG’s own mission of keeping daily essentials within reach for all.
The outlet will also offer a range of unique merchandise featuring designs by local artists themed around the area’s history. These include the FairPrice Finest x Kelly Ser Atelier collection, a line of products showcasing local artist Kelly Ser’s trademark modern contemporary depictions of traditional architecture and landmarks, including a range unique to the Clarke Quay store. Items from the collection, such as the SG River Tote Bag or SG River Tumbler – depict Clarke Quay in its heyday as the centre of trade and commerce, bringing the Singapore River to life with kaleidoscopic colours.
Apart from its commitment to heritage and supporting local communities, FPG constantly explores new ways to elevate and transform customer retail experiences. FairPrice Finest Clarke Quay features innovative concepts like The Grocer Bar – an in-store bar area where shoppers can enjoy FairPrice Finest’s extensive selection of beer, wine, and spirits right after purchase, or try designer cocktails crafted in collaboration with local name brands such as Brass Lion Distillery and Pernod Ricard Singapore.
These include 11 twists on local favourites such as the Kueh Salat Cocktail – featuring a flavour blend akin to the popular Peranakan kueh with a gin base – or the Ondeh Ondeh Cocktail – blending coconut rum with gula malacca for a refreshingly sweet tipple. All Heritage Cocktails are priced at $15 per glass. The outlet boasts FPG’s largest Grocer Bar and beer, wine, and spirits selection, an homage to the area’s evolution into one of Singapore’s best known nightlife districts.
The new outlet also features an Experiential Zone through which customers can participate in cooking classes, demonstrations, and other events.
