St. Joseph’s Institution International Preschool is a place where love, learning, and growth intertwine. Formerly known as Maris Stella Kindergarten, their preschool has a rich history that spans over six decades, starting with the arrival of the Franciscan Missionaries of Mary (FMM) Sisters in Singapore in 1953. Inspired by their compassionate hearts, the FMM Sisters identified a need for a nurturing nursery and kindergarten in the area. With a deep commitment to creating a homely and conducive environment for children’s holistic development, Maris Stella Kindergarten opened its doors on 15 January 1954 to 30 children from 26 different nationalities. Over the years, their student community flourished, embracing diversity and fostering a spirit of togetherness.
In 2023, a new chapter began in the preschool’s journey. St Joseph’s Institution International, a renowned school of the De La Salle Brothers with a profound educational legacy spanning over 300 years, assumed management and operation of the kindergarten.
