Bukit Panjang’s Senja neighbourhood has welcomed a new cluster of outdoor recreational facilities, including Singapore’s first neighbourhood inline skating rink. The Senja Inline Skating Rink has recently opened as part of Sport Singapore’s Sport-in-Precinct initiative, converting the hard court outside the Zhenghua-Senja Square Residents’ Network into a dedicated skating space. The rink is free to use and does not require bookings, although visitors will need to bring their own skates and protective gear as there are currently no announced equipment rental or supporting facilities. The residents’ network is also expected to organise beginner inline skating classes.
Alongside the rink, the new Senja Warrior Course features a two-lane 400m running track, GymGuru outdoor fitness equipment and an obstacle course with stumps, a rope bridge and suspended logs. Families can also head to the Senja Go Trail, a child-friendly outdoor play area with ground-level trampolines, rubber mounds, climbing structures and a Ninja Warrior-inspired course. The obstacle route includes a netted climbing structure, ramps and monkey bars, offering a more active alternative to a conventional playground.
The facilities are located within a short walk of one another and are easily accessible from Jelapang LRT station, with the skating rink around three minutes away and the Senja Go Trail and Senja Warrior Course about five minutes away. Those travelling from Bukit Panjang Bus Interchange can take bus 922 to Block 617, followed by a short walk to the rink. Located at 7 Senja Link near Block 621 Senja Road, the new facilities give residents a free and accessible space for skating, running, fitness and outdoor play without the need to travel beyond the neighbourhood.
