Yaowarat Cafe has opened at Skysuites @ Anson, introducing Singapore’s first dedicated kai krata concept to the CBD. Inspired by the lively streets of Bangkok’s Yaowarat district, the cosy 30-seater café is the latest venture from the team behind Yaowarat Seafood, bringing authentic Thai breakfast culture to local diners through affordable, all-day offerings. Conveniently located just a short walk from Tanjong Pagar MRT, the café is designed as a casual spot for breakfast, lunch or an afternoon bite.
The star attraction is the Yaowarat Kai Krata ($7.80), a traditional Thai breakfast served in a sizzling pan with eggs, Thai basil minced pork, bacon, fish sausage and melted cheddar, accompanied by a crusty baguette for dipping into the runny yolks. Diners can also opt for a local twist with the Nanyang Kai Krata ($9.80), inspired by nasi lemak and topped with otah, chicken franks and ikan bilis. Other highlights include the fragrant Thai Green Tea Kaya Toast ($2), comforting Tomyum Mama Seafood Pot ($8.80), Tuk Tuk Chicken Rice, and Hotplate Basil Rice, all priced to remain wallet-friendly for the CBD crowd.
Founded by a team with strong Thai roots, Yaowarat Cafe aims to introduce lesser-known Thai street breakfast traditions while blending them with familiar local flavours. With most dishes priced below $10, the café offers an accessible taste of Bangkok without leaving Singapore, making it a welcome new addition for office workers and Thai food lovers looking for something beyond the usual café fare.
