Chimichanga has opened its seventh outlet and new flagship at Raffles City Shopping Centre, marking a decade of the homegrown Latin American restaurant group in Singapore. Spanning nearly 3,000 square feet, the new space brings a livelier city-centre setting to the brand, with an indoor-outdoor bar, a dedicated pet-friendly zone and a day-to-night dining atmosphere designed for everything from casual meals to after-work drinks.
The flagship also puts a stronger spotlight on charcoal-grilled cooking, with a Josper oven taking centre stage in the kitchen. Expect Latin American-inspired plates built around roasted and grilled meats, including Pollo a la Brasa with aji verde, slow-cooked smoked Wagyu beef cheeks and a grilled Wagyu burger, alongside Chimichanga’s familiar tacos, quesadillas and other crowd-pleasers. The drinks programme gets a flagship refresh too, with exclusive cocktails and Margaritas, while a specialty coffee offering by Kyuukei adds another reason to drop by earlier in the day.
The opening marks a new chapter for Chimichanga, which began in Little India in 2016 with its playful take on Mexican flavours adapted for Singaporean tastes. Ten years on, the group has grown into one of Southeast Asia’s homegrown Latin restaurant groups, with concepts spanning Chimichanga, Chimi’s and Little Chimi’s. Later this year, the Raffles City flagship will also introduce Mesa del Chef, an intimate eight-seat chef’s table, adding a more immersive dining experience to its latest city outpost.
