To Be Continued Bookstore offers a quiet, unhurried alternative to Singapore’s fast-paced retail scene, tucked along New Bridge Road. Founded by Odie Wu, the space operates less like a traditional bookstore and more like a reading room — where visitors are welcome to sit, browse, and stay for as long as they like, with no expectation to make a purchase.
Since opening in 2024, the bookstore has built its identity around a thoughtfully curated collection of primarily Chinese-language titles. These span fiction, essays, translated works, and cultural writing that are less commonly found in larger chains. The space itself is designed for comfort, with casual seating that encourages readers to slow down and immerse themselves in the experience.
Beyond books, TBC Bookstore also engages with the wider cultural scene through collaborations with Ee Hoe Hean Club, hosting occasional arthouse film screenings. It’s a pairing that reflects a shared commitment to preserving slower, more intentional forms of culture — offering a rare space in the city where reading, reflection, and community take centre stage.
