Orchard Road is set for a major refresh following announcements in Singapore Budget 2026, with plans that go beyond shopping to reposition the district as a full lifestyle and entertainment destination. Among the highlights is a new large-scale live music venue along Grange Road, part of a wider push to bring more nightlife, events and cultural experiences into the Orchard area.
The upcoming venue is a collaboration between Live Nation, Lendlease and the Singapore Tourism Board, and will be located near Somerset MRT Station. Designed as a modern concert and events space with an estimated capacity of around 3,000, the venue is expected to host international touring acts as well as regional performers. Plans also include integrated café and bar spaces that can double as smaller event venues, making the development more than just a concert hall.
Just a short walk away, Emerald Hill is also set to see new life. The former Singapore Chinese Girls’ School site at 37 Emerald Hill is being redeveloped into a mixed-use project with boutique hotels, lifestyle concepts and public community spaces, adding another layer of activity to the Orchard precinct. The updates are part of broader plans to refresh key leisure districts across the city, positioning Orchard as a destination not only for retail, but for dining, music and after-hours experiences as well.
