A specialty coffee bar inside a food court is not the usual headline — but Diff Specialty Coffee is precisely that. Newly opened within Local Chapter at CT Hub 2 in Lavender, the brand brings a sleek, modern coffee counter into an otherwise utilitarian industrial setting. Stainless steel surfaces, warm wood accents and a prominent La Marzocco machine immediately signal that this is more than just another grab-and-go stall.
Diff positions itself as a coffee-first concept, offering espresso-based drinks, filter brews and cold brews alongside matcha, chocolate and a small rotation of pastries and local-style bakes. The team works with established names in the regional coffee scene, including Fluid Collective Co. for selected beans and Kuala Lumpur’s Niko Neko for matcha. Signature highlights include the indulgent banana matcha topped with banana mascarpone, as well as a well-made pandan kueh lapis that nods to local flavours.
While there is no dedicated seating area, guests are free to settle at any of the food court benches — an arrangement that keeps things casual and accessible. As one of the more unexpected new coffee openings in the area, Diff Specialty Coffee stands out for bringing serious brews into an everyday setting, quietly raising the bar for what a food court coffee stop can be.
