Homegrown Shihlin Taiwan Street Food marks the grand opening of its newly rebranded Compass One outlet recently in January 2026. The refreshed Shihlin 2.0 concept represents the brand’s evolution after 22 years, while staying true to its roots with the legendary XXL Crispy Chicken – over 100 million pieces sold worldwide since it began as a humble kiosk in 2003.
Just like its very first revamped outlet at NEX, this new Shihlin 2.0 at Compass One, too, serves up a new era of crunch that is cleaner and less oily, full-fledged mealtime options, and a fresh, modern identity that reflects both its heritage of bringing the authentic flavours of Taiwanese night markets to Singapore and its playful new mascot, Miao Miao!
Look forward to its two new hearty, and value-for-money rice bowls created in collaboration with a Taiwanese consultant that are inclusive and authentic: Braised Chicken Ricebowl 滷肉飯 ($7.50), and Chiayi Scallion Chicken Ricebowl 嘉義雞肉飯 ($7.50). Following their debut, both rice bowls will be available across all Shihlin outlets islandwide. Other improvements to enhance speed, consistency and quality are the installation of self-order kiosks and integration of a mobile ordering system so diners can order as they shop without queuing – how’s that for maximum efficiency!
Diners will also be pleased to see Shihlin’s new feline mascot Miao Miao at the renewed Compass One kiosk – this playful cat will be making an appearance as limited-edition collectible mystery charms, available in four designs at only $1.99 with any purchase!
