Heritage Meets Brunch: National Gallery Singapore Introduces Kopi 1930 & Twenty Eight Café
National Gallery Singapore is delighted to welcome Kopi 1930 and Twenty Eight Café, opening on 1 November 2025, as part of its ongoing F&B refresh. These new concepts reflect the Gallery’s commitment to enhance visitors’ experience, presenting a diverse line-up of dining options that span heritage favourites, artisanal concepts, and contemporary flavours, ensuring that there is something for everyone. The Gallery will also extend morning access, with Kopi 1930 and Twenty Eight Cafe opening at 8am, making mornings at the Gallery even more inviting.
These additions also underscore the Gallery’s role in supporting homegrown F&B talent and celebrating Singapore’s rich culinary heritage, ensuring visitors can enjoy meaningful cultural and culinary encounters beyond the galleries themselves.
Two Cafes, Two Distinct Flavours
Kopi 1930 celebrates Singapore’s beloved kopi culture and local tastes. Visitors can look forward to familiar favourites such as laksa, mee siam, kaya butter toast and its signature UFO buns. In contrast, Twenty Eight Café offers a modern brunch experience featuring dishes like its signature fluffy pancakes, shakshuoka and hearty sandwiches, designed to appeal to local café lovers and international visitors.
Both concepts are run by the same company and housed within a shared space at the Gallery, offering two distinct yet complementary dining experiences under one roof. With interiors that echo the building’s past, including seating inspired by the original wooden chairs of City Hall, the café brings heritage to life in both flavour and form.
About Kopi 1930
Serving Singaporean cuisine in a modern café setting, Kopi 1930 offers a wide selection of traditional local dishes alongside its kopi toast and UFO buns. What sets Kopi 1930 apart is its dedication to authentic Singaporean flavours, setting itself apart from Malaysian-influenced kopi chains. Kopi 1930 provides a complete café experience with both heritage dishes and a welcoming, design-driven environment that blends modern style with colonial-era nostalgia.

About Twenty Eight Café
Twenty Eight Café is a modern Australian-inspired café with a Japanese twist, offering an extensive all-day breakfast menu alongside signature dishes like shakshouka, club sandwiches, and robust house-blend coffee. Established in 2018 at Wilkie Road, the café is celebrated for its high ceilings, airy colonial architecture, and warm, inviting atmosphere.
