The Violet Oon Group introduces its newest concept, Bibik Violet, a Peranakan café opening on September 29 at Temasek Shophouse. Designed as an all-day dining spot, the café serves comforting one-dish meals, small plates, kuehs, and cakes that highlight the rich flavours of Peranakan cuisine. Diners can expect signatures such as nasi lemak, Nyonya laksa, prawn mee, kueh pie tee, and buah keluak pork ribs alongside nostalgic bakes like orange sugee cake, traditional kaya toast, and assorted Nyonya kuehs.
The café’s interiors reflect the same heritage-driven spirit as its menu, featuring vintage furnishings and authentic Peranakan tiles salvaged from shophouses built in the early 1900s. The setting is warm, vibrant, and inviting, making it the perfect backdrop for enjoying these timeless flavours in a relaxed and casual environment.
As Violet Oon Group CEO Tay Yiming shared, “Preserving culture through food is about memory, belonging, and the stories that connect us. With Bibik Violet, we wanted to create a space that feels casual and inviting, like dining at your favourite auntie’s home, where laughter fills the air and there’s always something delicious to eat.” Nestled within the century-old Temasek Shophouse, Bibik Violet embodies the group’s philosophy of heritage, heart, and community.
