Founded in 1954, Tai Cheong Bakery has been delighting generations with its iconic handcrafted bakes. Widely recognised as the pioneer of the beloved cookie crust egg tart, the Hong Kong institution has grown into one of the city’s most cherished bakeries, renowned for preserving traditional recipes while continually delighting customers with new creations.
This year, Tai Cheong Bakery celebrates 10 years in Singapore, marking the milestone with the opening of its 11th outlet at ION Orchard. The new outlet introduces an exciting line-up of outlet-exclusive offerings – savoury tarts and the Kamcha Hong Kong Style Milk Tea, alongside an all-new cookie collection (available islandwide), continuing the brand’s commitment to bringing authentic Hong Kong flavours to both loyal patrons and first-time visitors.
SAVOURY TARTS, A FIRST FOR SINGAPORE
For the first time in Singapore, Tai Cheong Bakery introduces savoury tarts, available exclusively at the new ION Orchard outlet. The Lo Mai Kai Tart ($4, pictured left) reimagines the comforting flavours of the beloved local dish in tart form, while the Truffle Scallop Tart ($4, pictured right) brings the indulgence of a luxe seafood dish into snack form, combining delicate scallops and aromatic truffle on Tai Cheong Bakery’s signature buttery pastry base.

A BOTTLED TASTE OF THE CHA CHAAN TENG
Also debuting at the outlet is the Kamcha Hong Kong Style Milk Tea ($3.80), a bottled rendition of the classic cha chaan teng beverage made with authentic Ceylon black tea and evaporated milk. Rich, smooth and full-bodied, it brings the traditional Hong Kong tea house experience into a convenient, ready-to-drink format.
NEW COOKIE COLLECTION ACROSS ALL OUTLETS
Beyond the ION Orchard exclusives, Tai Cheong Bakery has also rolled out a new cookie collection available at all Singapore outlets. Delicately crisp yet irresistibly buttery with a melt-in-your-mouth texture, they come in four moreish flavours: Ember (Hazelnut with Purple Sweet Potato), Roast (Coffee), Bloom (Green Pea) and Luxe (Cashew) for $18 each.
Beyond the new creations, Tai Cheong Bakery’s signature Hong Kong-style egg tarts continue to define the brand. Freshly baked in-store and made without preservatives, each tart features the bakery’s iconic buttery cookie crust and velvety egg custard filling – a timeless recipe that has earned its place as one of Hong Kong and Singapore’s most beloved pastries.
