By day, the same address as ORH GAO Taproom, takes on a different mood with the opening of PEH GAO Coffeeshop, ORH GAO’s new daytime concept. Inspired by the spirit of the traditional Singapore coffeeshop, Peh Gao brings a calm, unhurried setting for breakfast, lunch, and everyday meals. It is the kind of place you go for kopi and toast in the morning, a proper plate of comfort food at noon, or simply to sit awhile without needing a reason.
The menu centres on familiar local staples, starting with classic kaya butter toast, soft-boiled eggs, and kopi, before moving into a wider mix of Asian comfort dishes. Expect options that reflect the diverse background of the kitchen, from nasi lemak and braised pork rice to bowls of pho and other homely favourites. The approach stays simple and intentional — food that feels known, flavours that feel grounding, and meals that suit both quick stops and slow afternoons.
PEH GAO also becomes part of the renewed energy at Serene Centre, where several long-time eateries have refreshed their concepts in recent months. Within this updated setting, PEH GAO brings back the feeling of the old-school coffeeshop, but with a slightly more considered touch. Together with ORH GAO Taproom, the space now moves through the rhythm of the day — quiet mornings, comforting lunches, and lively evenings — all under one roof, and still firmly rooted in the neighbourhood.
