Tucked away in a discreet Cecil Street back alley, Pop City X Pony is a Japanese city pop–inspired cocktail hideout that rewards those willing to seek it out. Taking over the former Sugarhall space, the bar is a collaboration between Jigger & Pony and House of Suntory, blending neon nostalgia with refined Japanese design cues. Inside, textured kimono fabrics, ichimatsu checkerboard patterns and carefully zoned seating create a space that shifts in mood depending on where the night unfolds—from the energy of the main bar counter to more intimate corners designed for groups.
Drinks stay true to Jigger & Pony’s signature style: clean, balanced, and deceptively simple. The 18-cocktail menu is divided into three chapters—POP, CITY and Seasons In Motion—drawing inspiration from Japanese pop culture, fashion, and microseasons. Standouts include the smoky Hojicha Espresso Martini, the silky Matcha Ramos Fizz, and the bar’s namesake Pop City Sour, a highly drinkable whisky sour layered with shiso and sour plum. Seasonal creations rotate monthly, offering inventive combinations that keep regulars coming back.
Adding to the experience is Bar Mixtape, a bookable private nook complete with rare Hibiki bottles and a dedicated listening corner, reinforcing the bar’s music-led identity. Bar snacks lean comforting and indulgent, from truffle edamame and wagyu fat fries to pork katsu sandos and tonkatsu ramen, designed to complement the cocktails without stealing the spotlight. Pop City X Pony is a stylish after-dark escape where design, sound and spirits come together—equal parts nostalgia and modern city energy.
