Bao Er Café is set to open a new outlet in Holland Village this July, marking its first foray into dinner service with extended hours from 7am to 10pm daily. Housed within a shophouse along Lorong Mambong, the new location offers a larger dining space and builds on the success of the original Balestier Plaza café. Fans can expect the same beloved menu—led by their signature Kaya Toast Set, made with house-crafted pandan kaya and thick-cut SCS butter on super-thin toast, alongside their wok hei-packed Signature Hokkien Mee topped with crispy pork lard and fresh prawns.
The Holland Village outlet will bring a slightly elevated experience to the heart of this buzzing dining enclave. Founded by husband-and-wife duo Jeremy Tan and Bao Er Thai, Bao Er Café gained viral fame for serving classic local flavours with finesse, drawing long queues at their no-frills Balestier spot. Their Hokkien mee, though wetter than traditional versions, is known for its depth of flavour and smoky aroma. While no new menu items are being introduced at launch due to limited manpower, fans will be pleased to know that the café’s luscious kaya spread is available for takeaway at $7.50 per 250ml tub.
With its prime location and longer operating hours, the Holland Village café is positioned as a more polished sibling to the original, without losing its comforting charm. Tan and Thai will be helming the kitchen personally to maintain quality and consistency. As the brand expands, this new outlet promises to bring Bao Er Café’s signature dishes to a broader crowd—now with the bonus of a proper dinner service in one of Singapore’s most vibrant food neighbourhoods.
