Japan’s popular hamburg specialist Hikiniku to Come is set to open its first Singapore outlet at VivoCity, with the launch expected in May 2026. The new restaurant will take over a Level 1 unit near HeyTea, marking the brand’s latest expansion outside Japan. Known for its focused menu built around grilled hamburg steaks, the chain has built a strong following in Tokyo and other Asian cities, and its arrival has already drawn attention from diners who have tried the original outlets abroad.
Hikiniku to Come is best known for serving freshly ground beef patties grilled over charcoal and brought to the table straight from the fire. Each portion is cooked to order before being served on a hot plate, allowing diners to finish the cooking themselves for the ideal texture. The hamburg is typically paired with rice, soup, pickles, and a selection of condiments, keeping the meal simple but precise, with the emphasis placed on the quality of the meat and the timing of the grill. The format has become the brand’s signature, combining the feel of a set meal with the theatre of live cooking.
With several outlets already operating in Japan and across Asia, the VivoCity opening marks the chain’s first step into Singapore’s dining scene. While details of the local menu are still being finalised, the concept is expected to follow the same style that made the brand popular overseas — a focused, single-dish experience built around freshly grilled hamburg, served hot, fast, and exactly the way it is meant to be eaten.
