At Orchard Towers, a new concept is offering a very different reason to visit the long-time nightlife address. The Peranakan Club is a large multi-concept space dedicated to Peranakan heritage, bringing together dining, retail, gallery exhibits, and cultural experiences under one roof. Spanning an entire floor of the mall, the venue transforms the unlikely location into an immersive showcase of Straits Chinese traditions, reflecting the area’s ongoing shift towards new lifestyle and dining concepts.
Created by businessman and former chef Raymond Khoo, the space blends museum-like displays with working restaurants and lounges. Inside, antique furniture, embroidered textiles, and traditional ornaments sit alongside contemporary interiors, while the gallery section features heirloom costumes, jewellery, and collectibles linked to Peranakan family history. A retail corner offers kebayas, accessories, and lifestyle pieces, allowing visitors to experience the culture not only through displays but also through clothing, craft, and design.
Food and drink form the heart of the experience, with several dining concepts ranging from casual Peranakan cooking to private tok panjang-style meals served across long communal tables. There is also a tea lounge for afternoon sessions and a cocktail bar inspired by local flavours, giving the space a full day-to-night rhythm. More than just a restaurant, The Peranakan Club is designed as a cultural destination — a place where heritage, cuisine, and social gatherings come together, offering a rare, all-in-one look at Peranakan traditions in the middle of Orchard Road.
