Pokémon Singapore today announced that Pokémon Center SINGAPORE at Jewel Changi Airport will temporarily close from 1 April 2026 while it undergoes a comprehensive store renewal to feature a fully localised store concept. This strategic decision reflects Pokémon Singapore’s commitment to establishing deeper roots into the island, evolving the shopping experience into one that is distinctly local-inspired, and resonating more meaningfully with fans in Singapore.
A Temporary Farewell
Since 2019, Pokémon Center SINGAPORE has had the pleasure of welcoming many fans and customers through its doors. Through its strategic location at Jewel Changi Airport, the store has become a popular attraction for both locals and tourists, offering a wide range of Pokémon merchandise such as Video Game, Pokémon Trading Card Game (TCG) items, plush toys, bag charms, and so on. Over time, it has grown into a vibrant hub for the Pokémon community in Singapore, adding to the city’s diverse and evolving pop culture landscape.
The temporary closure marks the next evolution of the Pokémon Center SINGAPORE, which will reopen as a Pokémon Center to offer a fully localised store concept. The renewed space will feature Singapore heritage-inspired installations, alongside interior design elements inspired by everyday local culture. Fans can also expect an expanded range of merchandise and shopping experiences available in Singapore, making the store a truly on-of-a-kind destination.
Looking Ahead to a Bigger Return
During the renewal period, Pokémon will continue to bring its world closer to fans through pop-up stores, at Jewel Changi Airport and Plaza Singapura for three months. At the pop-ups, a curated selection of official Pokémon merchandise and familiar touchpoints will be available, ensuring fans can stay connected with
Pokémon while the center prepares for its exciting return.
Fans can also look forward to the introduction of a new symbolic Pokémon representing the renewed Pokémon Center. The new symbolic Pokémon is specially selected to represent the unique charm of Singapore. This move will bring a renewed spirit to Pokémon Center SINGAPORE.
“We are incredibly grateful for the continued support from our fans in Singapore. Over the past seven years, we have witnessed Pokémon become an increasingly meaningful part of everyday life, and we are proud to have been part of that journey,” said Shunsuke Sasaki, Managing Director of Pokémon Singapore. “This renewal marks an important milestone as we further elevate the brand experience at the Pokémon Center at Jewel Changi Airport. The refreshed store will feature thoughtfully curated products, including some limited edition merchandise, and an enhanced interior design concept, created to delight both our long-time fans and first-time visitors alike. We look forward to welcoming everyone soon .”
The Pokémon Center at Jewel Changi Airport is scheduled to reopen in the third quarter of 2026.
