San Francisco coffee chain Blue Bottle Coffee has arrived in Singapore, but for now, locals can only enjoy its gift shop. The newly opened shop is located within Lumine’s 7,000-square-foot global flagship store at Raffles City. The shop offers a range of Blue Bottle Coffee merchandise, including the popular Blue Bottle Mug, a Singapore-exclusive tote bag, and Craft Instant Espresso for home brewing.
A full café experience is on the horizon, as Blue Bottle Coffee plans to open a dine-in café at the same location next year. According to Ernest Leung, the director of operations, the brand started with a retail shop while finalizing details for the café. Preparations are underway, including water testing to ensure the coffee meets their standards. The upcoming café will serve coffee beverages and light bites, with plans to include small culinary offerings for customers who want something to munch on.
Following the opening of its first Singapore outlet, Blue Bottle Coffee aims to establish eight to twelve more locations across the island. The decision to open in a mall is a departure from the brand’s usual strategy of choosing less populated areas for a more exclusive feel. According to Leung, the brand is currently exploring various real estate options throughout Singapore for future outlets.
