Shell has launched the first Shell Select convenience retail store located outside of Shell service stations in Singapore. The new store is situated at Singapore EXPO, which houses the largest electric vehicle (EV) charging hub in eastern Singapore.
Singapore EXPO, Singapore’s largest purpose-built meetings, incentives, conventions and exhibitions (MICE) venue, is managed by Constellar. It is equipped with 20 Shell Recharge EV charging stations offering both rapid Direct Current (DC) charging of up to 120 kilowatts (kW) and Alternating Current (AC) charging of up to 50 kW. They are powered by solar energy generated from the venue’s rooftop solar panels.
“Growing our convenience retail presence is a key part of our strategy, together with the supply of high-quality fuel choices and EV charging,” said Doong Shiwen, General Manager of Shell Mobility Singapore. “With an aim to deliver more and cleaner energy solutions, we are constantly exploring how to better serve our customers in Singapore and their evolving needs beyond service stations. This new Shell Select brings us a step closer to both drivers and non-motorists alike.”
Shell Select convenience retail is currently available at 56 service stations island-wide and provides a wide selection of food, with fresh and ready-to-eat meals for breakfast, quick bites, snacks and even hearty meals for on-the-go. Meanwhile, Shell Recharge EV charging is available at more than half of these service stations on top of over 200 charging posts in shopping centres, commercial buildings and condominiums across Singapore.
