KADA at 5 Kadayanallur Street is Singapore’s latest lifestyle haven with holistic dining, wellness, living, and art experiences in a 102-year-old space. To mark its milestone transformation and official opening on 21 March 2025, the event was graced by Guest-of-Honour, Ms Low Yen Ling, Senior Minister of State, Ministry of Trade and Industry, and Ministry of Culture, Community & Youth.
Steeped in historic charm, KADA is more than just a building; it is a testament of how preservation and transformation can go hand in hand. At 102 years old, this heritage treasure is recognised as one of Singapore’s earliest Modernist buildings. It is designed by Swan & Maclaren, the same architectural firm behind Singapore’s most iconic buildings, including the Raffles Hotel and the Tanjong Pagar Railway Station. The building also houses a unique antique elevator, which used to transport children to the roof for sun and fresh air. Today, one emerges from the elevator onto a magical oasis in the city, and a creative dining experience.
Once home to the St Andrew’s Mission Hospital for women and children, the building’s legacy of well-being continues today. KADA reimagines this historic space as a modern-day wellness sanctuary where people can work, live, play, and unwind under one roof.
Where it all begins: For entrepreneurs, KADA serves as a launchpad for first-time business owners and innovative concepts. For patrons, it’s the backdrop for memorable moments — whether it is a first date, a new fitness journey, or the exchange of wedding vows. For residents and visitors alike, KADA is where the day starts, with a restful night followed by an invigorating cup of coffee.
KADA fosters a vibrant ecosystem through the careful curation of its tenants, bringing together businesses that align around shared goals and a common identity. This collaborative spirit is embodied in KADA’s thriving coffee culture, where even competitors unite through a shared passion for craftsmanship, establishing KADA as a premier coffee destination. In addition, KADA’s businesses collaborate to offer a holistic experience. Co-living residents at Habyt KADA enjoy access to a fully-equipped gym, art at ‘Lil Palette, and wellness offerings from Limitless and Shiruki Studio. Health-conscious individuals can seamlessly transition from personalized workouts to post-physio recovery sessions, and even consult with experts at the newly launched AI clinic, Eternami, to explore advanced methods for monitoring and extending their healthspan.
Beyond coffee and fitness, KADA also offers a variety of evening spots to unwind. From yakitori and sake at Daikoku, mouth-watering tapas at Lavi’s, and authentic Indonesian cuisine at D’Penyetz Heritage, to signature cheesecake and wine at Haus, and refreshing, all-natural teas at Origin Tea – there’s something for everyone. The newly opened rooftop resto-bar, Proud Perfect Potions, created by the talented chef behind Proud Potato Peeler and Alani Bakery, adds another layer of flavour to KADA’s diverse offerings.
Developed by the same team behind the beloved Margaret Market, KADA is a sister concept that builds upon their shared vision of creating vibrant, community-driven space.
