Deepal has officially arrived in Singapore with the opening of its showroom at Alexandra Road, marking the brand’s official launch in the country. Represented locally by Premium Automobiles, Deepal’s showroom is located on the second floor of its expansive facility at 281 Alexandra Road, while fellow Chinese brand Xpeng occupies the first floor. The showroom spans a spacious layout, accommodating up to 12 cars, along with a customer lounge, a kid-friendly play area, and a café. A dedicated service center for Deepal is also housed in the basement level of the building.
Deepal is a brand under Changan Automobile, one of China’s ‘Big Four’ state-owned car manufacturers, alongside Dongfeng, SAIC Motor, and FAW Group. Its Chinese name translates to ‘Deep Blue,’ though the transition to ‘Deepal’ remains something of a mystery. Originally established as a division of Changan focusing on ‘new energy’ automotive technology, the brand specialized in hybrid and electric vehicle (EV) development before evolving into a full-fledged car manufacturer. In 2022, it adopted its current English name, signaling its expansion beyond research and development.
Deepal began its international exports in 2023 and has since expanded to multiple markets, including Thailand, Australia, Mexico, Nepal, and Pakistan. With Singapore now part of its global footprint, the brand continues to grow its presence in the competitive EV and hybrid vehicle sector, bringing its latest innovations to local consumers.
