City Square Mall has unveiled a major $50 million renovation, refreshing the 16-year-old mall with a new atrium design, expanded dining options and upgraded lifestyle experiences. The once-angular central space now features curved, multi-level forms that house new cafés and restaurants, including Daydream Desserts and modern Australian spot The Fat Sparrow. The upgrade also introduces Gastro Square, a 24,000 sq ft dining neighbourhood at Basement 3 featuring notable names such as Michelin Bib Gourmand recipient Kok Sen.
Beyond F&B, the mall is leaning into its role as a vibrant third place for the community. Families can look forward to new experiential attractions such as Giggle Jungle, an indoor adventure playground, complementing long-time favourite Airzone. The refreshed mix aims to offer more reasons for shoppers to stay, play and explore beyond traditional retail.
City Square Mall’s commitment to community extends outdoors with the CDL EcoTrain — a decommissioned SMRT carriage transformed into a climate education hub. Filled with interactive exhibits and programmes co-created with Just Keep Thinking, it brings sustainability learning to life for children and adults alike. With these updates, the mall positions itself as a dynamic destination where dining, play and engagement come together in one refreshed environment.
