Orchard Clinic, a specialised treatment centre for women, announces the launch of their third centre in Bukit Timah today, indicating the huge demand and awareness for postpartum treatments in Singapore. Following the success of the first two branches in Orchard and Kembangan, the third centre will help to manage the demand for non-medical treatment of conditions such as incontinence and diastasis recti (abdominal muscle separation). The fourth centre in Parkway Parade is also slated to open in the third quarter of 2022.
Located at Guthrie House along Fifth Avenue, the new Orchard Clinic is a 1,600 sq feet space with eight treatment rooms and a comfortable waiting lounge that offers utmost privacy. Along with the expansion of its physical space, Orchard Clinic is also expanding its focus to include treatments for menopause conditions. Common menopause conditions treated at Orchard Clinic include pelvic floor weakness, pelvic organ prolapse and vaginal dryness and laxity.
“The female body goes through a unique journey from pregnancy to menopause. Along with hormonal changes that cause laxity in the skin and tissues, there could also be weakness in the pelvic floor and abdominal muscles, which often lead to issues like incontinence and diastasis recti” shared Cheryl Han, Co-Founder of Orchard Clinic.
“Prior to today’s advancements in treatment technology, the only option for women was either traditional methods, physical exercises or more invasive solutions like surgery. With over 30,000 new births a year in Singapore and women having to return to the workforce soon after pregnancy, we are providing a new way for women to regain strength and confidence fast.”
Orchard Clinic prides itself in its 100% improvement rate and 98% success rate – treatment is only proposed if and when it is deemed suitable after an initial consultation and assessment by the female-only consultants. Postpartum body recovery has largely been neglected or left to traditional methods. Statistically, 1 in 4 women suffer from incontinence after pregnancy and childbirth, and 60% could be living with a split in their abdominal muscles, a condition called diastasis recti. Following the demand from pre and post menopausal women seeking treatments for pelvic floor conditions, Orchard Clinic is also expanding its focus to offer women in their 40s and beyond with treatments for incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse and vaginal laxity.
