The Mandai Boardwalk, a 3.3km trail skirting the perimeter of River Wonders and the Singapore Zoo, is now open to the public for free. Accessible daily from 7am to 7pm, the boardwalk offers breathtaking views of Upper Seletar Reservoir and the Central Catchment Nature Reserve. Visitors can observe local wildlife along the trail and catch glimpses of animals cared for inside the Singapore Zoo. Entry points are located near River Wonders and Mandai Wildlife East, the new gateway to Mandai Wildlife Reserve, which also connects to attractions like the Night Safari, the upcoming Mandai Rainforest Resort by Banyan Tree, and indoor nature-themed experiences such as Curiosity Cove and Exploria.
The boardwalk features five thematic stations and a lookout point, each inspired by the native wildlife and their habitats. Highlights include The Tree Frog’s Hangout, named after the four-lined tree frog, and the Damselfly’s Wing rest station, with elliptical designs inspired by damselflies and dragonflies. Designed to be elevated above the reservoir’s banks, the boardwalk allows native animals to move freely below and preserves mature trees along its route. Its wheelchair-friendly design ensures accessibility for visitors of all ages and abilities, making it a welcoming space for everyone to enjoy nature at their own pace.
Mike Barclay, Group CEO of Mandai Wildlife Group, shared the vision behind the project: to create an inclusive and accessible destination that brings people closer to nature. Visitors to the boardwalk may also spot native species like the straw-headed bulbul and flocks of long-tailed parakeets, enhancing the experience of this scenic and thoughtfully designed attraction.
