Yu Zhong Bu Tong fishes are produced at their local farm that has served as a critical buffer during supply disruptions. In line with Singapore Food Agency’s aim to increase the capability and capacity of our local agri-food industry to produce 30% of our nutritional needs by 2030, Yu Zhong Bu Tong answers the call by supporting this ‘30 by 30’ goal to farm and supply local fish in a productive, resilient, and sustainable manner. It is a farm by Singaporeans for Singapore.
Yu Zhong Bu Tong harvests marine fish from its own local coastal farm, with practices that are aligned with responsible farming. Following Singapore Food Agency’s guidelines of Good Aquaculture Practices for Fish Farming, the farm observes the production of safe and quality fish that is 100% natural and safe for consumption.
In working towards a more environmentally sustainable footprint, the coastal fish farm operates fully on renewable energy through harnessing solar energy and applying smart farming techniques. This allows it to work towards its vision of being fully carbon neutral in its operations. This eco-friendly sensibility extends from farm to table, where it practises head-to-tail sustainable dining. Whole live fresh fish are brought in from its farm to be used almost in entirety at Yu Zhong Bu Tong. While not every part of the fish necessarily makes it to the plate, its skillful chefs use them in the preparation of its food.
